On November 14, 2007, Red Octane met its match with Red Elevator Productions, the one-of-a-kind multimedia production company recently formed by the five lovely people pictured below. Red Octane and Red Elevator combined to sponsor STAR POWER, the first official Guitar Hero competition New York City has ever seen. And oh, what a night it was… Click here to view of list of the evening's official Star Power RULES And check out some of the PRESS for Star Power Don't forget to check out the Red L Star Power COMMERCIAL |
The whole Red L administrative gang! |

![]() The hosts for the evening were the fine folks at Greenwich Treehouse. They created two special drinks – appropriately named ‘Red Elevator’ and ‘Guitar Hero’ – for the historic event. Thanks so much gentlemen! |
![]() Even Rome wasn’t built in a day. To pull off an event as epic as Star Power took some serious planning and preparation by the Red Elevator Executive Engineers: Rob Herring, Matthew Hadley, Rachel Walker, Daniel Halden and Laura Ramadei. Look at these folks hard at work! |
![]() All that hard work paid off, however, as things got underway and the Treehouse started rockin’. Several of Red L’s own company members took part in the competition: just witness Teddy Diefenbach rocking out during the first round. Go Teddy! |

![]() As the night went on, what ensued was a tense, terrific tournament that had everyone on the edges of their seats – or standing on their heels – to witness upsets, blowouts and history in the making. What a lovely crowd! |
![]() To keep track of all the music and mayhem, we went March Madness-style and made a bracket apropos for the legends of the night. Some serious organizational skills! |
![]() Eventually, two players rose above the rest to take their place among the rock gods. Filipino Pornstar and TigerHawk, pictured above, navigated the rocky roads of Guitar Hero II and III to earn their rightful places in Star Power’s nail-biting final round… Can you feel the STAR POWER?! |
![]() …which, as any Guitar Hero fan knows, could only be one song: ‘Free Bird,’ from Guitar Hero II – appropriately played on Expert. Simple? No. Scintillating? You bet. It all comes down to this. Are you ready to BATTLE?!?! |
![]() Filipino Pornstar made quite a case with his impressive score of 401,939. But in the end, it was TigerHawk whose STAR POWER shined brighter than the rest. With an awe-inspiring tally of 444,969, TigerHawk earned a $150 gift certificate to Best Buy – not to mention plaudits, praise, as well as the grand prize – his coronation as Star Power champion and New York City’s first official Guitar Hero! Congratulations TIGER HAWK!! |
