Second Annual No Budget Film Festival. August 25th in Los Angeles

Red Elevator Productions was thrilled to co-produce (alongside Rent Food Broke and Showbiz Media) cARTel: Collaborative Arts LA's Second Annual No Budget Film Festival. The event took place on Thursday, August 25th at the beautiful Downtown Independent, 8:30pm-1am, complete with screening and reception. The evening showcased 15 of the over 50 submissions, which only had to adhere to two rules: clock in at under eight minutes and spend absolutely no money. The panel of judges included writer of Thor and X-Men First Class, the filmmakers behind Sundance/SXSW hit Bellflower, the co-creators and writers of Cheers, the DP who lensed The Guild, top indie film and television producers, and more. The slate of prizes is just as impressive, including $1400 worth of production software, a fully produced film premiere and a publicity photo shoot, to name a few. For more information, head to cARTel's website and be sure to check out our write up on Film School Rejects. Photos from the event can be found here and info on how the evening went is available from Brownies and Lemeonade and here.

New York Noir. A throwback to the radio plays of the 1930s and 40s.

Red L member & writer/director, Brendan M Leonard adapts the short stories compiled in Manhattan Noir into a series of old fashioned radio plays. With only the aid of a script, a mic, a music stand and some basic editing software, Red Elevator attempts to take you to another time and place, that we hope leaves you feeling just a tiny bit sexier when all is said and done.
