New York Noir. A throwback to radio plays of the 1930s & 40s.

Red L member & writer/director, Brendan M Leonard adapts the short stories compiled in Manhattan Noir into a series of old fashioned radio plays. With only the aid of a script, a mic, a music stand and some basic editing software, Red Elevator attempts to take you to another time and place, that we hope leaves you feeling just a tiny bit sexier when all is said and done. Ryder's Reel. I’m not a ________ [insert dysfunction here] but I play one on the internet.

Picture
Ryder’s Reel was the brainchild of Red L company members Adriana DeGirolami, Tricia Olds, Laura Ramadei and Josh Rowe, and was distributed by Red Elevator Productions in 2008.  Ryder’s Reel was a short-lived but vibrant experiment in what could be done with the nascent world of the web. The premise? Charlie Ryder, NYU film grad about to hit his quarter-life crisis, follows his 8 best friends around in an attempt to capture something truthful. The reality? Hours of story & character building for its creators, long-form improv for its actors, "voyeurism" for its audience.  Alas, not all good things are meant to last, and Ryder’s is no longer in production. To check out its seven exciting episodes, head to the Ryder's YouTube site.  At some point in the future, the final three episodes will appear and give you some closure to the fabulous, frenetic, fractured lives of Ramona, Bea, Kyle, Maxwell, Tom, Trevor, Freddie & Gia.

Star Power: Guitar Hero Rocks the Apple

Picture
On November 14, 2007, Red Octane met its match with Red Elevator Productions, the one-of-a-kind multimedia production company recently formed by the five lovely people pictured below. Red Octane and Red Elevator combined to sponsor STAR POWER, the first official Guitar Hero competition New York City has ever seen. And oh, what a night it was…

For complete coverage of the event, just give a click here, but I'm afraid you won't find too many pictures. Oh the things that disappear from the internets when you take a two year hiatus.
